Step by step

Choose the service 'Certification / Verification of Products' and enter all relevant information in the upper area.

Click 'Register product' to start the product registration.

Register product

You have now the possibility to search for an already exisitng product in our database.

Type one of the follwoing information into the search field:

• classification/type designation
• reference number
• product labeling/code

By choosing an existing product, some information will be populated automatically.

If the product is not availiabel you have the option to  register a new product under '+Register a new product'.

If not other specified with your responsible DNV GL station, each order shall contain only one type of product.

General information

After choosing an existing product or registering a new product, addtional information are required.

Please specify any information you may have regarding which vessel the product is intended for. If the product is made for stock (no specific vessel), please tick off 'Other'.

For newbuilding or fleet in service vessels, the specific vessel rules will be shown under 'Reference Documents'. In general you can add the "DNV GL Rules for Classification - Ships" for almost all products. This rules cover both DNV and GL rules.

Certificate

 All informtion around the certificate(s) are handled under 'Certificate'

If you have entered more than one indentical product under 'Quantity', you have the posibility to receive single certificates for each product.

Reserved certificate number can be selected under 'Certificate number(s)'. Type "N" to display all reserved certificates. The 'Postfix' field is used to create unique identifiers when differentiating or splitting products that share a certificate number. Please use only numbers for 'Postfix' input.

In case of MSA, please specify where the product should be stamped.

Supplementary information

You may register additional product related information, that shall appear on the certificate, as free text under 'Suplementary information'.

Product parameters

Based on the selected product, additional parameters become active. When you select a DNV GL product name (ref. Product field) a list of parameters, that DNVGL has defined, appears which give you the possibility to specify the product in more detail. Please note that the specified values shall be registered, not the test values.

Click on '+ Add customer parameter' to specify additional parameters to be listed on the certificate.

Surveys

Here you can register tests and other actions to your product(s), e.g. pressure testing, performance test, documentation review.

You may use the pre-defined descriptions and/or add additional descriptions. For orders, where all testing will be done at the same time, please select “Final inspection”. Otherwise, please specify the test/survey scope mor in detail.

To close the prouct regristration press now the 'Ok' button

Visits

Here you can invite DNV GL for a visit. This can even be done without registering a product in order to reserve a time window.

The order and product details need then to be registered at a later stage.

Please enter the time window and select the surveys to be executed during the visit.

Additional manufacturing information valuable for attending surveyor can be entered in the 'Information to the surveyor' field. As an example visit or manufacturing address (if different from ordinary company address), visit contact person or any other similar information.

To close the visit regristration press now the 'Save' button

Attachements

Please upload relevant supporting documents under 'Attachements'.

Relevant documents may be uploaded and shared with DNV GL at any time until the order is historic.
