Product Certification and Verification
Under 'Product Certification and Verification' it is possible to choose between two type of product registration:
Click on 'Register certification/verification' to register a product. Our portal enables re-use product data from previously handled orders. You may search on several criteria, e.g.
In case that you do not find the product, please continue with “Add new product”.
Please enter in 'General information' the product information. The product name is the only mandatory field; all other fields are optional.
Depending on the information, that you have received from your purchaser, please select what the product is intended for. In case of known yard and hull number you will then get the information which DNV GL Rule set is applicable for the vessel. If the product is not intended for a vessel, you may also as free text specify any other Standard or specification.
Please upload reference documentation if relevant.
In 'Deliverable', you may specify details that are used for our certificates / reports.
With quantity, you shall specify how many identical products are to be covered by our deliverable. If no certificate numbers have been reserved, the 'Certificate number' field is grey.
If certificate numbers have been reserved for your company, you may select one of the non-used numbers. By typing “N” in the field you will get the next free certificate number.
If you add product serial numbers, the system checks the serial numbers against the quantity. Click on (
) to find a guide how to register a serial number.
If the product quantity is >1 you may request to receive separate deliverables for each product.
In 'Marked on' you may specify, where the product has been marked with our certificate number.
'Supplementary information' is a free text field where you may enter information that should be shown on our deliverable.
If you re-use an already registered product, a set of pre-defined product parameters will be shown. You may change the parameter if necessary or add additional customer parameters.
To close the product registration please click on the button 'OK'.
You can after the product registration invite DNV GL for a visit. How to request a visit is described in 'Request a service' under 'VISITS'.
As soon as we have issued the deliverable(s) and the order is marked as historic, the issued deliverable(s) will be available under each product information of your request.
Click on 'Upload technical documents' to register a product. Now please specify, what should be approved (e.g. Pressure vessel type ABC5000).
Please enter the Rules or Standard that shall be used for the design approval.
If the product is intended for installation on a vessel, that is classed acc.to any DNV GL Rules set, please do always specify DNV GL Rules.
The acceptance of DNV GL Rules is specified in the DNV GL RULES FOR CLASSIFICATION - DNVGL-RU-0050 - General regulations
Now you can select, for which installation the product is intended. You may use:
In case of other you shall specify any details. DNV GL will limit such a design approval, e.g. for a special delivery batch, your company reference or a purchaser reference.
If you would like to receive an unlimited design approval, please apply for a Type Approval / Type Examination. (see User Guide item 2.3)
